Tell the Story – Gospel.PUB

Tell the Story

Never Grow Tired

The intended purpose of these web postings is to be a source of edification, inspiration and education to the redeemed in Christ. The last stanza of the old hymn “I Love To Tell The Story”, written by Katherine Hankey, states, “I love to tell the story for those who know it best, seem hungering and thirsting to hear it like the rest”. What a comforting truth to know. Followers of Jesus should never grow tired of hearing the gospel story.

The story of the babe in the manger, who was God in the flesh given as a gift of life to all who would trust in God’s grace, is a story told around the world by God’s people and unbelievers alike. The death of Jesus at the hands of the Roman army and His empty tomb found by the women and witnessed by the Apostles; bring joy to the heart of the born-again. Jesus, as He ascends to heaven in His glorified body to prepare our “mansions” in the Father’s house, excites the hearts and minds of the followers of Jesus with the hope of being with Him through all eternity.

The story that we who await the coming of our Lord and Saviour, love to hear over and over is found in these words of Apostle Paul:

“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”(1 Th 4:15-18)

It is my hope that these daily writings will touch the ears of some, who are sitting at the "gates of the waiting" to die and they will hear the words of life through the Saviour. You who sit and wait; open the bible and read about the sinful people who heard the story and found forgiveness and friendship in the gospel. Turn to the Bible and read about the women who were looking for love in all the wrong ways and find love in the arms of Jesus. Read of the men who set their hearts on the riches of this world and find the “pearl of great price in the grace of God in the gospel message.”

To sit and perish in your sins is a poor choice when you can have life and life more abundantly. Arise and awake dear one. Find the hope that God has for you and take the encouragement of the Wiseman Solomon:

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” (Pro 3:5)

Dear friend, do not linger or impose on the future. Call on Jesus today. Call out to God for forgiveness in the name of Jesus and His promise: “Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37) will be yours.
