Walking in Victory

“In their affliction they will seek me early.” Hosea 5:15

The eternal consequences of sin is resolved by the saving grace of God demonstrated and delivered by Jesus. Jesus and Jesus alone holds the power to deliver you from sin and death. It is the power of God that keeps you until the final hour you will live in this world created by God.

Speaking to this truth, the Apostle Paul said, “...for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” (2 Ti 1:12) The eternal power of sin has been removed from your life, Jesus said:

“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.” (John 10:28-29)

The question is not will you sin after you are born-again, you will. The question is what will your consequences be walking in the ways of this world and not in the power and will of God. You will stumble and fall. No one is able to live a life free from the temptations of sin.

The outcome of living a life that is contrary to God’s will is a life void of peace, joy and victory. Living with God’s favor on your life is how a born-again follower of Jesus receives the power to avoid the effects of the world in their life. God has allowed Satan to become “the prince of the power of the air,” and that is  “the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.” (Eph 2:2)

This power that Satan has over the “children of disobedience” does not apply to the born-again followers of Jesus. This power has been removed and cast “As far as the east is from the west." (Psa 103:12)

If you are born-again and sin, the question God asks you is how long will you wander in the world’s ways before you repent. It is God’s desire for His people they will  “In their affliction they will seek me early.” How long will you wander in the land of the lost before you call out to God for forgiveness?

To the child of God that strayed away from God’s loving fellowship, He has made you this promise:

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

The Apostle Peter makes this observation, “For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls." (1 Pe 2:25) Jesus has saved you, sin no longer holds the power of death over you.

Jesus is the “Shepherd and Bishop of your soul” and when you sin, Jesus desires that you will in your “affliction seek him early.” Restoration and renewal are just a prayer away for you that have strayed from the “Shepherd and Bishop of your soul.”

Forgiveness of sin for the follower of God does not reclaim your place in the “Father’s house.” When God forgives you of your sin He restores His favor on you. To live in the darkness of the world of the lost, or to live in the light of God’s blessing is your choice.

My friend, how long will you wander the world of the lost? How long will you live without the favor of God on your life? How long will you delay your peace and joy granted by living a life of victory? The choice is yours and yours alone. Today if you are willing, call on His name and be restored to a life of victory.
