Buy One Get One Free?

BOGO

Many are looking for the best deals for Christmas presents this time of the year as the last minute shoppers are seeking gifts that are prompted by the tradition of the season. In the ads you see, merchants are discounting prices. They are offering buy one get one free (BOGO) discounts, seeking to gain your business.

What if the merchants seeking your patronage slashed all their prices and now all their inventory would be given away free of charge? Would you receive their free gift? God has made such an offer to you!

The payment for sin is high, so high you cannot afford to pay it and you will die and be separated from God for all eternity with the debt you owe God. The word of God exposes this truth about sin, “For the wages of sin is death.” There is good news for all people everywhere including you, God did not stop at the debt of sin but continued with an offer of grace, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Rom 6:23)

Jesus calls out to you who are carrying a sin debt with this offer:

“… Come And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” (Rev 22:17)

Free! God’s love and mercy do not come to you with a price tag. God seeks nothing from you in return for His gift of eternal life. Do not misunderstand, the water that is free to you was not free, it came with a price you could not pay.

Jesus paid the wages of sin for you on Calvary’s cross and took that payment into the heavenly Holy of Holies and there He sprinkled His own blood as payment for you.

You do not have to be happy, sad or weepy. You only need to be repentant of your failure to reach sinless protection. Come to the well of grace and drink until you are full of eternal life. Enjoy a new and wonderful life with Jesus as you drink of the water that will cleanse you from the stains of sin.

You may ask where can I get this water? This question was asked by a woman who was deep in sin and pain at a well and there she found the answer. The fountain of life is not found just in the buildings that house the Lord’s Church. This fountain of life is found in schools, business, on the sidewalks as we pass walking wells of living water and wherever a follower of Jesus is sharing the gospel of Jesus.

Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink! The streets are filled with people who are dying of thirst in the streets, homes and business not because there is no water but because they will not drink. The woman at the well desired the water that Jesus told her about. When Jesus said to the woman:

“…If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.”(Joh 4:10)

To simply hear the call of the gospel will not end your spiritual thirst. When the gospel of Jesus is revealed it must be received. The offer of this water must be acknowledged and believed in if your spiritual thirst is to be quenched. It is sad that there are so many people who are dying of thirst as they reject the gospel of Jesus Christ which directs the lost sinner to the well of God’s grace. The woman at the well when offered this eternal water said, “…Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not…” (John 4:15)

My friend, take heed to the call of the Holy Spirit proclaimed by the Lord’s Church:

“… Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” (Rev 22:17)

God has directed His love to you and is saying “come.” The question is not can you have eternal life but will you drink of the water that Jesus has paid for and now offers you free.
