The Enemy of God – Gospel.PUB

The Enemy of God

Total and Complete Surrender

And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? Mat 19:16

Do you want Jesus to be a “Good Master” or do you want to have peace with God and establish a friendship that puts an end to the separation between God and you? This young man who uttered the words to Jesus "Good Master" came to Jesus to establish a relationship with a “Good Master” when he needed to have Jesus as a friend.

To establish peace and friendship with an enemy is rare. True enemies have little, if anything, in common that would encourage a new relationship sustained by the past involvements that created their enemy status.

The only way a new friendship can be forged is when there is total and complete surrender to the enemy who holds the power to destroy or deliver. Only when the conquering enemy has the desire and ability to forgive past indiscretions that forged out the relationship as enemies can a new friendship evolve.

In both personal relationships and relationships between nations, peace is based upon a mutual agreement to live in peace. Agreed upon factors govern the nature of the relationship or even the notion of “the enemy of my enemies is my friend.”

We find in nature, natural enemies, predators and the ones they prey upon. We find in the scripture, under God’s ruling of His Kingdom, there will be a paradigm shift in these relationships.

“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.” (Isa 11:6-8)

The peace in God’s Kingdom is not because the evolution of nature has changed natural enemies into friends; it is because God is ruling over their lives as King.

Ever since the failure in God’s Garden, there has been a separation caused by sin that has set mankind as God’s enemy. The Scripture clearly states this truth:

“For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” (Rom 5:10)

Sin in the garden did not only bring about its wage of death but also set man’s ways in direct contradiction to God’s ways and changed the nature of our relationship with God from friends to enemies. Apostle Paul, in his letter to the believers in the church in Rome, made clear that the only way this enemy-based relationship can be changed is by total and complete surrender to God through the work of Jesus on His cross.

The grace and mercy of the power to destroy or deliver, held by God, has been offered to you through Jesus His Son. The Scripture is clear that if you will repent of your “enemy status” and call on the name of Jesus in faith you will be moved from a reprobate in rebellion to a friend that is at peace with God.

Do you want to be a part of the Kingdom of God where not only the lamb and lion are at peace but where you are at peace with God and with the people in your life? If so, call on the name of Jesus today and let God be the King of your life and heart.
