Stalking the Sinner – Gospel.PUB

Stalking the Sinner

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” (1 Pe 5:8)

As true as these words of the Apostle Peter are, it is even more so true that God’s grace is seeking out the sinner.

We find that the grace of God gives us powerful weapons over Satan stalking us with sin, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.” (2 Co 10:4)

The grace of God is seeking for followers to worship Him. We find that God’s mercy and grace are available to anyone, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Rom 10:13) God is actively seeking out people who will worship Him.

To the woman at the well Jesus said:

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” (John 4:23)

The Lord of Heaven and earth loves you and seeks you out.

The pineal of your relationship with God is worship. God is seeking sinners to create a new heart in them so they will be fit to worship Him. King David, pleading his heart before God said:

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psa 51:10) Your heart must be clean to have a renewed spirit that enables you to worship the most high God.

The Apostle Paul explains how your heart is made clean and the spirit is made right in these words, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Co 5:17)

God sent His son, Jesus, on an earthly mission just so His grace would have the power to overcome the sin of mankind that had set us apart and lost from His presence. Jesus Himself proclaimed:

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10)

Sin has set mankind on a path that leads us away from Him. The Prophet said, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way.” Isaiah 53:6 How true this is! We are lost and wander in the land of sin and unable to find our way to God.

The prophet did not leave us without hope with his words describing our terrible condition but he also said speaking of Jesus, “…and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isa 53:6) God’s grace provided Jesus to be the focus of His wrath against sin and sinner alike and “laid it on Him.”

Dear friend, God loves you and in His grace calls to you to come home. Will you this day follow the “Good Shepherd? If you will, the darkness of this world of sin and death will no longer hold power over you and you will receive this promise made by Jesus:

“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)
