How Will You Be Remembered? – Gospel.PUB

How Will You Be Remembered?

A faithful follower of Jesus knows that it is difficult to be consistent in our daily walk with God. Jesus, summing up the entire law of God said:

“…Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” (Luke 10:27)

Wow! “All thy heart” and “All thy soul” and “All thy strength. In these few words, Jesus draws a word picture of how the life of a follower of Jesus should be lived out. When Jesus said “all thy heart” He was speaking to how your mind, will and emotions should reflect the nature and righteousness of God as you live out your life. Jesus addresses how focused your spiritual life should be when He said “all thy soul.” The words, “all thy strength” refers to your how you should order your physical lifestyle.

It has been said the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Many people set out on the road to rebuild their broken lives only to find themselves walking in circles that take them back to the failure they had departed from.

All of us recognize our flaws and failures and most want to improve in the areas we fail. However, it is sad that many good intentions lay waste in the dust of failure. Change comes about with much effort, the Wiseman King Solomon said:

“For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.” Ecl 5:3

It is easy to say tomorrow you will do or change something or even remove from our lives but often when tomorrow comes the sun rises on yet another broken hope of change. Solomon said hope of change comes at the expense of a “multitude of business” but a fools life live is summed up with only words.

Taking action that results in personal change takes hard work, self-control, and prayer. When we ask God for His help changing the things in our life that displease Him be careful to keep your promise you make to Him. The Wiseman also said, “when thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.” When you seek help from God, be sure you honor your commitment to Him.

Followers of Jesus do not achieve a life of victory and walk in paths that God blesses without doing so with “all his heart.” If your heart is on fire for the Lord, you will persevere in the Christian life. If not, you will live a life of defeat and become like the man Jesus’ brother James said looks into a mirror and, “beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.”

If we are going to prosper and have a life that is pleasing to God and have God’s blessing, we must do it with all our hearts. Jesus said we are to, “Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind.” Luke 10:27
Summing up the life of the prophet Hezekiah, God’s word said:

“And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.” (2 Ch 31:21)

Live your life in such a manner that these words will be the epithet spoke of you when you are remembered by the ones you leave behind in your death, “He did it with all his heart and prospered.”

Living in Jesus every day.
Gives strength to change our lives.
And all the things that we need to put away.
As in truth about ourselves, we open our eyes.

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
(Mat 5:45)
