Does God’s Grace Change? – Gospel.PUB

Does God’s Grace Change?

God’s grace is multifaceted and is experienced daily in all of God’s creation. It is God’s grace that provides for all His creation to continue to exist regardless of their relationship with Him. Jesus, teaching His followers how to love not just the loveable but the unlovable, makes this observation about God’s grace, “…for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” (Mat 5:45)

God directs His grace towards the lost and unbelieving person so they can experience and understand a personal revelation by the Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul explains how the lost sinner gains saving knowledge in these words:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Eph 2:8-10)

God’s grace does not only preserve life for people “Evil and on the Good” (Mat 5:45), but He seeks you out to “gift” you with eternal life. Grace is not finished when a salvation transaction is complete, however its purpose shifts. God’s grace moves from a “preserving grace” to a “saving grace” and now to a “living grace.”

Apostle Paul, speaking to his “son in the faith”, said:

“Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Ti 2:1)

The shift of grace to a “living faith” is experienced in Christ Jesus. We begin our journey in life with a “hands-off” experience with God’s “preserving grace”. We experience “God’s saving grace” once we live in a daily relationship with God through “Jesus’ grace.”

The grace of God is the power of a follower of Jesus to live a victorious life in the darkness of the world. It was the grace of God that He loves a sinner while we are His enemies; it is the grace of God that calls to us in the darkness of our sin and it is the grace of God that redeems us of the sentence of death and punishment.

The grace of God is without measure. God’s word makes this clear His offer of grace is not withheld from anyone! God tells His creation, “the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.” Jesus was, is and always will be a fountain of living water that will never run dry. Any and all that will be filled and freed. Jesus said, “whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14

God’s grace gathers followers of Jesus into a new people. The apostle Peter said:

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people. You are His people! You are His Church!" 1 Pet 2:9

The Apostle continues with your place in this new nation, “that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

Understanding grace and the power it holds in the life of the people of God is the source of strength to the follower of Jesus. Trusting in God’s favor not in our labor in keeping the law of Moses or religious activities sets us free to live a life that glorifies the Savour.
Living our lives each and every day giving thanks to God for His grace is our victory as we live in the shadow of the cross of Jesus. Giving God the glory for our hope and strength is how God’s grace is celebrated in the nation of God’s people.
